On ny old Puch Maxi the connection rod has a bushing where it connects to the piston.
Is IT possible to change for a bearing type?
You cannot just swap it out. You’d have to ream out the connecting rod to accommodate the larger needle bearing. Doing this is not advised as it will weaken the rod.

Ok. Is it a idea to change the bushing when fitting a new cylinder? If, how is this done?
I would only change out the bushing if the motor has over 7000 miles on it or if the bushing is worn out and there is too much play (piston slap). To change one out, you have to press out the old bushing, press in the new bushing, drill an oiling hole in the new bushing and ream the new bushing to specification. I've done it several times, but I have the specialized Puch dealer tools. It's not an easy thing to do correctly unless you have the proper tools. (edited)
