Hey all! (I hope I'm posting this in the right forum; totally fine with having it moved if this is the wrong place)
I'm looking for any soldering iron recommendations/advice y'all might have.
What I have in mind is to desolder a points & condenser ignition from one bike, solder it onto another, then install a CDI onto the first bike, as well as redo light wiring, install turn signals/relays, etc., so quite a bit of stuff I'd like to do.
What do you use to get these jobs done? I went to my local hardware store & the folks there didn't have much advice (I like their honesty), and only one or two cheaper irons to choose from.
Currently, I'm looking at the Weller WLC100 station, which seems great & pretty affordable, but I'm not sure if that will be as easy to work with, since that seems more designed for PCB work on a workbench, not on a bike that's a little further away from the electrical outlet?
I was thinking if I had a moped stand, I could rest the station on that stand to do work, but I don't have one just yet.
Anyway, thanks a lot! Really appreciate any advice/thoughts/suggestions! (edited)
