za50 backfiring and wet plug

jason anderson /

2.0 hp za50 if I clean the plug it will start right up backfires with half throttle. changed the main jet to every number possible. anyone have a clue why the plug gets to wet and backfiring. I did not replace the crank seals. could that cause it? I can set the timing anywhere and get the same thing.

Is your float operating properly? Could be getting too much fuel

well that's what I thought. So I put a float in that I had. It didn't fix it. so buying another carb to try. But wouldn't the carb leak if the float was improperly operating.

Probably Fred /

Pitch stock pipe if you run a performance filter for pipe is so restrictive

make sure magneto is serviced cleaned lubed, point gapped correctly and timed correctly
