'78 Honda Express dims head/tail light when sounded

When the horn is sounded, the head light and tail light dims. It does not do this if the horn is disconnected. The horn contacts are not shorted to the casing.

The horn button and it's wiring ohm out OK to the horn.

Is the horn bad or is something else going on?

Re: '78 Honda Express dims head/tail light when sounded

A horn draws a good share of juice , so it would seem natural that the lights dim when the horn is 'engaged' .

I would check your battery fuse and then presume your battery is weak or undercharged.

Fuse and batter are new as in two months old. Regulator is new and working. Charging coil is putting out 7.5 volts at running RPM.
