Unidentified Carb on Honda Express 2 NA50?

I am a complete newb at scooter repair, and just bought a 1979 Honda Express 2 that needs some TLC.

Currently, the scooter runs but only idles for a few minutes before dying. I am in the process of changing all fluid lines, filters, cleaning and resealing gas tank from rust, and replacing parts that are broken. My issue is that my bike has a carb with no serial number, and it is obviously not the one that comes stock.

I saw this link in another post recently, and my carb looks exactly like this one:

I am wondering if I need to replace this carb, or if it will perform well enough as-is when all the other maintenance is done?

I am considering buying the MLM 15 mm SHA intake (https://www.treatland.tv/MLM-honda-express-15mm-SHA-intake-p/motion-left-intake-324.htm) and putting this Dellorto carb on (https://www.treatland.tv/dellorto-SHA-15-15-carburetor-p/dellorto-sha-15.15-cable-2045.htm).

Would this work? The choke cable is also MIA, so I think I'd have to buy one of those too. I'm super confused and appreciate any feedback you guys can offer! Want to get this bike up and running for summer, and I feel like I am in over my head here.

Most of us run this carburetor it's easy to fit and can be expanded to do whatever you need.

Re: Unidentified Carb on Honda Express 2 NA50?

Which are you referring to? The one that is currently on the bike, or the Dellorto?

Get the SHA 16/16 or 15/15, order the #2 slide you will find it on the treats website it will run better with the metal slide with an angle on the Bass.

You will need to tune it with the jetting too so get a 68, 69, 71,

And you will be just fine with the manual choke model all you got to do is flip the lever down when you open the throttle it pops off the choke
