got spark and fuel, derbi

so some time 2 years ago ( i know it took a while to get around to this) i was riding my euro variant, and then it suddenly just died.

im not the only one who this has happened to,

recently i have cleaned the carb, changed fuel, and still nothing.

when i put starting fluid in the piston it wants to start but dies, i figure it only burns off the starting fluid and then nothing

i thought at one point it could have needed a external condenser, but still nothing

i have spark, and the plug looks to be wet and it still wont run

i havent done the compression test, and i have tried a different carb and still nothing

any ideas????

Eliminate the decomp, by unhooking the cable.

Re: got spark and fuel, derbi

did that too

Timing.

Re: got spark and fuel, derbi

no, didnt do that

Re: got spark and fuel, derbi

But, it tries to start up on starting fluid, so I doubt it's timing, I believe it is a cdi as well

Re: got spark and fuel, derbi

Ive had my woodruff keys sheer off a few times with the derbis. Check timing just to be sure

Re: got spark and fuel, derbi

Ill give it a see, and if anything I'll be back

Re: got spark and fuel, derbi

Do a leakdown test if you have the stuff to do it. (edited)

Re: got spark and fuel, derbi

Not a condenser, you have a cdi homes.

Re: got spark and fuel, derbi

there was a part that looks like a condenser, its grounded and one of the wires connects to the the rest of the wire harness, it also had faded in that said 5.3 ohm

so i thought that was a condenser

i do remember that getting hot after a while of riding

Re: got spark and fuel, derbi

Or was that maybe for the turn signals? It leads to a green and yellow wire
