DKW Hummel crankshaft

I am just starting to restore my DKW Hummel 801 (1957) It appears that the crankshaft does not have a keyway to locate the flywheel. Is this true? I appreciate your help. Thanks.

Thanks for that info Bill. How do you align the flywheel when re-fitting it to the crank?

Re: DKW Hummel crankshaft

its a taper fit, but you have to reset the timing everytime you remove the flywheel...... heres a repair manual that should help
