Grease Maxi Swingarm Bushing?

Just what the title says. Repainted my Maxi and need to know if I should grease the rubber swingarm bushing.

A search didn't turn up anything.

Re: Grease Maxi Swingarm Bushing?

Being you have the motor off you might as well put fresh rubber in there...If it's not that old and still tight you could put a little WD-40 on it but alot of grease will turn it to mush over time...

Re: Grease Maxi Swingarm Bushing?

I was surprised when I pulled the rubber out and cleaned it up. No signs of wear, and still pliable. I just wasnt sure if there was any lube involved to keep it fresh or not. Thanks!

Re: Grease Maxi Swingarm Bushing?

Grease or oil and rubber are both made from petroleum and the rubber will break down if you over do it, so that's why I say a little WD...

Re: Grease Maxi Swingarm Bushing?

i use sil glyde on a lot of rubber and plastic stuff.

Re: Grease Maxi Swingarm Bushing?

Yup, you want silicone lubricant for rubber. Sil-Glyde is the stuff for brake caliper pins etc.
