NU50 no start SOLVED!

Well, I figured it out finally. After having redone and replaced bout everything on the bike. I had a brain moment and decided to check the CDI harness plug wire color coded. Everyone of the 5 wires in the plug was in the wrong spot!! So I popped out all of the wires from the connector and reinserted them into the correct spot and I have SPARK!!!!!!!!

What PO Noob changed them all?? who knows but the 1982 Urban Express Deluxe with 301 original miles is alive.

Now I just got to get the carb right...plug is really wet!

Re: NU50 no start SOLVED!

what the dickens?! they prolly tried to pull it out wrong and just jam em back in.

the wet plug may be still poor sparks letting it get wetted, possibly the autochoke bystarter being faulty, clogged air filter, leaking oil injection, or just bad old gasolines

Re: NU50 no start SOLVED!

Dump old gas ,get a new plug and go from there.

Re: NU50 no start SOLVED!

yea I have done all of that...cleaned the autochoke....still revs up by itself after about 45 seconds.....im taking the carb off again!!
