Are these worth it to repair? Pics included

---- Corey B ---- /

2 Jawa mopeds. Both untitled. Offered to me for $250. Told the black one will run with carb work, red one missing small odds an ends and should also run once replaced. Don't know anything about jawa's really, not even sure what model they are or whatever. If untitleable is $250 safe to be able to part them out? Worth restoring? Whats up moped gods help me out i've been trying to get away from untitled junk but now this pops into my life. Also just wanted to say thanks to every one on these forums, the help here is great and love seeing eveyrones builds.

Re: Are these worth it to repair? Pics included

jawas are real tough to get parts for and are just weird in general. im not a fan of working on them, too many headaches.

Re: Are these worth it to repair? Pics included

But still a nice bike and in that shape worth it to repair. They have a smaller following but loyal owners. The second.. no, just no.

But still, the both of them are JUST worth 250 for the lot, if one ran. Pass.

Care to explain? I assume from these comments jawa's are a pain? haha

Re: Are these worth it to repair? Pics included

yeah

Jawas are a pain.

but once you get one running it

will run forever.

ignition thryster is the weak point

the red Jawa is a 207

these take a 4 prong thryser

black one is 210 Jawa

has updated ignition and it the

better of the two

if the 210 runs then offer $200.00 for both

stock Jawas are great beaters and loaners

Offer as much as $210 for both, but try to get both for $100 and try to repair.

The wheels are worth close to $90, if the chrome is good, and not warped.

And if the gas tank are good, Those are at least $39 each.

The stators,if good, are at least worth $39 each.

Ignition coils are at least worth $39 each

A good cylinder is worth $30

The Ignition Thyristor Unit,if it has strong spark, $30 each

Complete good condition CEV TAILLIGHT,if it has it, $25 each.

Switches $10 each

Carb drip plate $10

63 main jet $5 (edited)

Honest answer , you got two here maybe you could make one that runs and still have some spare parts. I have an AMF 1980 v1 Mineralli Roadmaster that most people have never heard of. I have to search for parts but it still runs and makes me happy.

Also, these are bikes in PA. According to the guy he said he went to a notary place or whatever and he claims they offered to title one for $50? Can this be true? Ive never had it that easy and I've worked on titling 3 bikes here in PA

For $200, nah. $100 to get those bikes out of his way is enough.

Don't ever expect performance out of em, but they'll be good to you once they are tuned up.

Well guys, i offered him $200 as my absolute top dollar unless he is able to prove 100% one is able to be titled relatively cheaply and easily. I've dealt with too many untitled bikes here in PA. I feel like for that price they'd be a decent project and i just wanted to say thankyou to everyone for the help. If he agrees and i end up grabbing them ill make sure to update everyone!

Re: Are these worth it to repair? Pics included

great info at jawamoped.com/

lots of parts at 'eastern two stroke' on ebay

Re: Are these worth it to repair? Pics included

jawa was first with pointless electronic ignition, no performance parts available except generic ex. chambers, carbs, and over bore pistons, porting helps.

If he doesn't have a Pa title in his name, you will not get a Pa title in your name, rendering them to nothing but a pile of parts. There's ways, but not through the staye of Pa for $50

That's probably the number one reason he is selling them. They're useless.
