QT50 Bad Stator (can you use a pw50 stator??)

I have a 1981 QT50 that I just inherited from family. Went from having weak spark to no spark in a matter of a day or so. I had it running for a brief amount of time. Anyways replaced a few parts and turns out the stator (charging coil) is bad. I was thinking about just replacing the whole stator and putting in a PW50 stator. Saw online a few people have done this. I was wondering though as I've been comparing the two that it seems the PW50 is missing a wire (only has 4 on it's stator). The qt50 has 5 (sounds like because of the headlight).

Does anyone have any experience putting a pw50 stator in a qt50? I would like to have functioning lights etc... Is there a way to add this wire in? Thanks for the help!

Could get a pw50 stator and solder the QT50 lighting coil on it.
