E50 starting clutch doesn't fully disengage

Like the title says. Even with out pressing the starting clutch lever I can turn the engine over. But only with the spark plug out. I have a maxi with a za50 and it doesn't do this. Am I not adjusting the clutch wire properly. It was just changed. So it's a little sluggish on takeoff.

You may have answered your question .

Re: E50 starting clutch doesn't fully disengage

More slack mate!

Re: E50 starting clutch doesn't fully disengage

So more slack better?

Re: E50 starting clutch doesn't fully disengage

I have on my puch an aftermarket dealie that the outer cable is attached to and when ya tighten the collar the assembly is rotated so the the cam is more engaged.

I enclosed a pic of the atomic bracket.

I tighten the cable and the cam more easily engages the starter surface. Loosen it and the assembly moves away.

What's on the oem setup ... Ask Ken!
