E50 Dies Upon Taking A Load

David Shearer /

So I've an e50 that when started on kickstand and with all the weight on the front, starts after a couple of kicks. Seems to me the clutch lever needs to be adjusted? But what do I know. I'm just an electrician.

On to the real problem. Once started, as soon as the back wheel touches the ground, dead.

I've performed inspections of the trifecta (carb, fuel lines, spark plug), all in great shape.

I've read through Fred's Guide. Nothing really pertaining to this problem.

Anybody seen this before? What did you do to correct the problem?

Overpriced Parts /

Loosen the clutch

Re: E50 Dies Upon Taking A Load

Probably a combination of a dragging clutch and air leaks. Even with a dragging clutch, the bike should still run unless there is something very wrong with the clutch.
