1977 Piaggio Ciao won't start
Re: 1977 Piaggio Ciao won't start
first post; but I trust you have searched and read every "vespa" or "vespa ciao" or "vespa clutch" etc flavored post in the repair https://www.mopedarmy.com/forums/search.php?6,search=vespa+ciao,author=,page=1,match_type=ALL,match_dates=0,match_forum=6,match_threads=0 and performance sections https://www.mopedarmy.com/forums/search.php?7,search=vespa+ciao,author=,page=1,match_type=ALL,match_dates=0,match_forum=7,match_threads=0 ?
as well as the dedicated vespa artlicles http://www.mopedarmy.com/wiki/Category:Vespa/Kinetic in the wiki?
and your vespa users http://www.mopedriders.org/html/manuals/piaggio/sm/piaggiosism.htm manual?
anyway, welcome...and, first guess.... check that the transmission pulley engagement button and lever on the rear hub is popped 'out' not pushed 'in'
if the rear pulley is engaged with the rear rim and the belt is turning the front clutch bell when you peddle but doesnt turn the crank/engine, its probably wornout clutch pads/springs that wont grab the bell no matter how hard you pedal.
