are A3 and A35 70cc piston and cylinder interchangable?

Long story short, need a new cylinder. is the a3 engine, but a local shop can order me one but says its for the a35 and hes never heard of a 70cc for an A3, however treatland offers one.

can i get the a35 70cc cylinder and piston abnd put it on my a3?

Re: are A3 and A35 70cc piston and cylinder interchangable?

yes, but you need to push out the brass bushing & install a puch rod bushing

also you'll need a A35 intake & dell 14:12 carb if you have the encarwi carb on there now

oh yeah .....you'll need a a35 head too (edited)

Re: are A3 and A35 70cc piston and cylinder interchangable?

I used an A35 cylinder with a A55 head. You will have to change out the wrist pin bushing since the piston in all the A35 cylinders have 12mm pins, and the A3 has a 10mm pin. Treats does have the kit with a 10mm pin piston, but whatever. Do some searching, there's tons of info. for that conversion.

thanks, i could have gotten the a35 locally but not the adapter for the 12mm pin, so i just ordered the 10mm kit from treatland.

good choice, those brass bushings like to heat up,get all smashed out of shape, and then break up into tiny pieces. 1mm of brass just isn't enough...

i assume you know your A3 intake isnt going to work yes?

did you remove the top-end and confirm that you still have an A3 crank?
