variator issues? with NU

Gruff "(OFMC)" - /

this just started and looking for ideas on how to solve this issue. When letting off the throttle it doesnt go to idle. stays at around 2000 rpm about 10mph. When I apply the brakes to come to a full stop it will then lower the rpms and disengage and/or lower the belt. Thought it was the clutch, felt like it wasnt disengaging so I put a different one on that I know works but it still does it. Now thinking its the variator but wondering what would all of a sudden cause this, and how to fix. using 3- 12's for rollers, bx31, any thoughts? throttle linkage is good not the issue.
