tomos brake cables

I've snapped like 5 brake cables is there anything stronger than bicycle cables?

Re: tomos brake cables

The stock cables are stronger than bicycle cables. You shouldn't have any problem snapping stock cables. Keeping them lubricated should help keep corrosion out of them.

Re: tomos brake cables

Motorcycle cables are stronger than bicycle cables. The cables treats sells as brake cables are very nice too.

Re: tomos brake cables

If you're snapping them, there must be some sharp edge somewhere grinding away at them.

Re: tomos brake cables

A lot of people try to put on cables that are too short, and have to be wrapped around sharp corners to get to the brake lever. The cables only need to be clamped tightly at the brake lever and at the hand lever. In between, they need to be loosely attached with wire ties or loop straps and not make any severe turns. Even motorcycle cables will snap if you install them with sharp turns in them.
