Does anyone have pictures of their Derbi PP rebuild?

I've had this piston port taken apart and floating around for a while, now I'm kind of unsure of where some of these shims go. Maybe you were more responsible than me and took pictures of that stuff though? Or does anyone have a piston port manual different than the one in the wiki? That one sucks and it's for a later model or something.

Hey Will that picture actually does help, thanks. And Leo that would be really amazing if you could do that for me, this thing is driving me crazy.

Re: Does anyone have pictures of their Derbi PP rebuild?

man, thats a great picture

Re: Does anyone have pictures of their Derbi PP rebuild?

ok

will try

got everything to split the cases

this is the 3rd time anyway so its not intimidating anymore

just annoying

yeah fucking up the shims is a bummer. thought i had it down but i mixed up the one on the end of the double needle bearing and had to split the cases after closing em up once. The stress from splitting and re joining the cases with proper shimming caused my vario side bearing to blow after 200 miles. such a bummer!

Re: Does anyone have pictures of their Derbi PP rebuild?

freeze the crank with dry ice

heat the bearing inside edge with a socket and

a propane torch(crank bearings only)

that the trick....no stress

slips right on

tap with a plastic mallet

Re: Does anyone have pictures of their Derbi PP rebuild?

Ok so I made this so you guys could maybe help me a little easier. These are the shims and the places where I think they go. The pedal engagement stuff has been removed but that won't affect the shims. Is this right?

A is 16x25x1 mm

B is 16x25x1

C is 16x32x1.75

D is 16x32x3

E is 16x32x3

Re: Does anyone have pictures of their Derbi PP rebuild?

Oh and that really sucks Will, trying to avoid that!

Re: Does anyone have pictures of their Derbi PP rebuild?

question?

does one of those shims go on the outside of the case?

like on the variator, to keep the inside variator cheek

on the shaft. its way inside there, inside all the grease

Re: Does anyone have pictures of their Derbi PP rebuild?

@blake

@will

i wil NOT be splitting the case.

sorry

i will be trimming the piston skirt on my Parmakit piston instead

seems there is only 1mm interference between

piston and case nubs so the prudent thing to do is

trim the piston not the case

if this does not work and the piston still hits the case nubs

then i will split cases and dremel the nubs

sorry again guys

Re: Does anyone have pictures of their Derbi PP rebuild?

in my Derbi SLE repair manual it states there are

2 washers under the double needle bearings

looks like 1 more washer on that shaft goes on(double needle )

before the shaft with the fixed gear

hope this helps
