are tomos a35 and a55 transmissions the same

Jake Pearson /

are a35 and a55 transmissions exactly the same? For example, can I swap one with the other?

It looks like the segments are the same, but the actual clutches?

Here's my question. looks like treats is out of clutch segments, but they have the whole clutch

says its for an a35, will it drop right into an a55?

thank you in advance

if you need to reline your clutch, you could do it yourself.

Yes clutch is the same for the both.

If clutch metal is shattered, you need a new segment. if not, spend 111 bucks at NAPA and a bottle of gorilla glue, and a roll of electrical tape, and you have enough material to reline your clutches for your lifetime. 1 night downtime.

electrical tape? You use that as the friction material?

I assume you lay down strips and glue in between them until the thickness is correct, right? doesn't seem like the tape adhesive will hold up on its own

Re: are tomos a35 and a55 transmissions the same

The tape is probably to hold the friction material in place while the glue dries. A big hose clamp works too.
