make a battery box and mount tthe baterry

Re: F@#$@in 6v Halogen, not bright...

the battery was from my 1971 yamaha GT1. I would have to buy another battery and rectifier....

Make sure you had a good clean ground to the lite.

Re: F@#$@in 6v Halogen, not bright...

I am definitely make sure I have a solid ground.

Re: F@#$@in 6v Halogen, not bright...

halogen cycle is very voltage dependant, a regulator may be in order.

Re: F@#$@in 6v Halogen, not bright...

Try revving the bike up?

Re: F@#$@in 6v Halogen, not bright...

so I took a headlight mount off and I reread my ground to the ground for a brand new wires on the whole system is still very dim

come to think of it I believe that my bulb that I'm trying to use comes from a d c batteries flashlight.

what kind of regulator what I need and what information would I need in order to have you help me find the regulator that I need

sweet. thanks

Re: F@#$@in 6v Halogen, not bright...

Halogens do want to be at the voltage spec on the bulb - or slightly above.

AC or DC they do not care much, it's a filiment. Will last longer on dc as all bulbs will.

What is the wattage of the bulb?? Also halogen tends to draw a bit more current. 18 to 20 watts may work out. But i suspect if it is a stock coil it just can't handle the load.

Put a voltmeter on the bulb and run the bike. If you see a big drop in voltage

you have your answer. Coil can not handle the load, however if it's not a big wattage bulb say 12 or 15 watts replace your lighting coil and go over ALL your grounds.

Long run...coil may not like impedance of bulb and have a shorter life - heat.
