So, putting down the road on my 1980 FA50 Shuttle and the speedo starts making this really high pitched grinding/whirring noise and the needle starts spinning around. At first I'm thinking TURBOOOOO but then notice the world isn't moving any faster, so speedo is just acting up. I get back home and the needle is pegged at 40mph and notice that the speedometer cable has puked out from the front wheel. What am I looking at? there doesn't seem to be a spindle on the end of the cable that goes into the front wheel hub anymore (if there was one in the first place?) So do I need a new cable or is my speedometer fried as well?
