Are Morini M1,MO1,MO2 and Minarelli V1 engine mounts similar?

Trying to weigh out my options with my latest basket case. The intake and flywheel of this 1979 Malaguti were exposed to the elements and water has definitely gotten into the crankcase. Up to now I've had experience with Puch, Garelli, and Sachs bikes, and a full rebuild of this Morini motor (could someone let me know which one it is) based on the present condition and parts availability is a little out of my abilities.

However, it looks like a V1 might fit, I got the idea from this thread, I know Demm bikes use a Morini “like” motor so I'm curious if I could do the same.

Thanks all, I checked out the manual on Project Moped Manual and I'm still not quite sure what I have here. I searched through a couple threads, but didn't find anything Malaguti specific.

Moped Lar (OFMC) /

An MO1 will bolt right up.

You have an m02. How bad is the transmission? Those can be fun little rippers.

Thanks for the info! Yeah, people who have these motors seem to like them a lot. I'm going to drop the engine and check everything out here in a few days, will report back when I do. Going to have to angle grind off the chain since it is rusted solid!

You never reported back. I’ve been waiting 7 years.

You must be a very patient person . ;)

I'm also curious about switching out an m02 for a minarelli v1.

Mounts totally different Jacob. You have to cut and weld.
