Minerelli V1 Trans/Clutch Oil

Chris Harrington /

I am new to the Minerelli V1 and am wondering what is recommended for transmission/clutch oil. Factory spec appears to be 16 oz. of 20 weight oil. The only 20 weight I can find is meant for compressors. Will a 30 weight non-detergent work well? Any other preferences? Thanks very much.

Re: Minerelli V1 Trans/Clutch Oil

Yeah 30w is fine - that's what I run on my V1 and my clutch/starter never complains. Just go to an auto store and ask to see their selection of synthetic 30 weight oils, and pick your poison.

Re: Minerelli V1 Trans/Clutch Oil

Make sure it is non-detergent SAE30 oil.

FYI...you can can get non-detergent 20W oil at Tractor Supply, but you have to buy it in a 2 gallon jug.

Re: Minerelli V1 Trans/Clutch Oil

I have 30w as well, works great, do it up.

Re: Minerelli V1 Trans/Clutch Oil

The compressor oil should be non-detergent

Thanks to all for the good advice. I went with a 20W non-detergent compressor oil and is is working great. Anything would have been better than the crud that drained out of the transmission.
