on the way to work with my new weak-ends pipe on my eurka flex my speedo stopped working. When i looked down the cable was twisted like a pretzel. I presume there was not enough grease in the speedo gears down by the wheel and it seized, but i have not had a chance to open it up yet. what do you think?

Take the cable off and see if the cable spins inside the housing. (edited)
if it doesn't? and what if the thing at the end of the cable is sheared off?
I unscrewed the cable from the thing that spins with the wheel and the peice of metal at the end of the cable was sheared off. why did this happen? not enough grease in the cable housing or not enough grease in the thing that turns with the wheel?
also at this point should i pull the metal tab out of the wheel so it doesn't get ruined more?

yeah get all the bit of the old cable out. start shopping for a new one
The gears inside your speedo may have seized up. Get a new cable and slowly push the bike to see if the cable is just twisting up because the speedo gears are locked up. If thats the case you can take it apart and lube it up or just get a new speedo
