qt50 carb oil line removal

Howdy

I'm trying to get my carb off for a cleaning. I was expecting the oil line to be attached to the pump with a nut, but I find that it is held on both ends by a clip. What is the best way to get the line off with out damaging it? Should I just grab on and yank it or is their a proper way to get the hose of?

Thanks for any help.

why are you trying to remove the hose from the pump?

Well, I was just following the shop manual. It shows a nut on the oil pump end of the line and says to remove it there and plug it to prevent leaks.

As I am looking a little closer, I see these clips just slide around the hose to help hold the line tight to the barb. I can get it off at the carb no problem after all. Much easier.

just plug the carb end of the line..

don't touch the pump.

better yet, just take the pump off, remove the gear on the pump, put the oil pump back on, plug the oil line inlet on the carb.. and premix.... 40:1

If all your trying to do is take the carb off... the line just slips off on the carb? WTF!
