Peugeot 103 Belt Part Numbers

I've been trying to crawl google search results for 20 minutes and still can't find the post. I swore I saw once someone posting the various (autozone, napa, advance) car parts store's internal part numbers for Peuoeot 103 compatible belts. Anyone have the thread bookmarked or have the part numbers written down?

Re: Peugeot 103 Belt Part Numbers

I use the old belt from a small swamp cooler. Serious, these green belts are more fabric than rubber and last 10 times longer than toothed automotive styles. Only draw back is the only come in 1 inch length incriments, where automotive apps come in 5/8 lenght incriments for a more precise fit.

But these belts with the more organic composition grip like you've never seen. If your into grip that is. Some guys like a little slip.

I recommend this Napa 4L340 W for pugs with stock variator and stock spring configuration.

Re: Peugeot 103 Belt Part Numbers

^That's a what I use. No problems here.

Great, I'm not alone. I thought I was missing somthing

Re: Peugeot 103 Belt Part Numbers

I just searched Peugeot 103 belt and found this thread. My belt ate shit right in front of a Napa and a 30 second Google search unveiled this jewl.

Miracle.

Re: Peugeot 103 Belt Part Numbers

Re: Peugeot 103 Belt Part Numbers

AX32 and BX32 work great for me.

Bump, I've been running the 4L340W for a while now and it's been good, but I wanted to test out the AX32 and BX32. Here's a comparison of their sizes...

I think I like the AX32 the best, just slightly wider than the 4L340W rides a little higher so I get a little bit more top end. I'm running a motobecane pulley and the BX just seems too wide for my liking it barely fits in the pulley groove. Seems to fit better in a doppler clutch pulley, but the bike that's going on isn't finished yet.

ok I just did a blog post on this here...

so I'm just going to copy/paste it over

It basically breaks down like this. The v-belt and wrapped v-belt are basicly the same size and shape. They have a narrower taper when compared to the other two cogged belts. A wrapped belt has a stronger tensile strength, doesn’t wear as fast, resists the elements better, can be a little spendier and isn’t as flexible as it’s non-wrapped counterpart.

The cogged v belts are better suited for going around small pulleys(your variator) and dissipate heat better. The part numbers that will work on a peugeot also have a wider taper this causes them to ride higher on the variator giving you more top end power, but losing some low end.

The wider cogged v-belt the BX32 seemed way to wide for me, but I’ve read that it might be necessary to run one if you’re running a malossi varplus. I don’t run one so I can’t confirm that.

Peugeot 103 with Variotop variator belt info

Re: Peugeot 103 Belt Part Numbers

not a Baron Asshole /

That link doesnt help for PUG, those are for moby. Malossi still makes the correct belt(for pug, 61 7219) to use with ther variotop and its listed as 38 degrees. VERY close to most v-belts that are 40 degrees. Some belts listed in that link are the wrong length(moby) and 30 degrees! I have these to try soon and will report.

If anyone has tried these with a clutch pulley chime in.
