i have a suzuki fa0 and the brakes are terrible i took the tire off and there was still quite a bit of brake pad left. when i squeeze the brakes they dont squeeze smoothly, not sure if i need a new cable to clean out the insides, let me konw what you think.
Most likely the cable, remove the easiest end and try the lever on the hub by hand, it should return freely. This pivot is prone to corrosion and can cause this. Oil helps but removal, cleaning and grease is best.
Cables can be lubed but with limited results. Work it alot with oil, if it doesn't improve replace it. The knubbie's on both ends of the cable should have grease on them as they pivot.
