82 Puch not reaching it's potential

it used to crap out when full throttled but a new air box fixed that- now it seems to stumble every 30 seconds or so when it is idled with the brake on or wheel down-

it seems like it wants to go faster than 25mph- it's a 2speed- so what's up-

how fast are they supposed to go if they are stock anyway???

Re: 82 Puch not reaching it's potential

30-35mph is what it should do.

Re: 82 Puch not reaching it's potential

have you taken pin out of exhust and clean carbon there also. the pin are there to make it go 25mph. do you have head gaskit on?

Re: 82 Puch not reaching it's potential

has head gasket and the pipe has been modified- should i take off the head gasket- wouldn't that make it leak???

Re: 82 Puch not reaching it's potential

Is it breathing right? it may be a matter of carburetor adjustment. Ratio of air to gas maybe not correct for low rpms- you might need to adjust it for idling now. Since you are O.K. at upper speed, you now need to tune it for the low end. This probably means a slight adjustment. AIR/GAS RATIO determines everything, but varies according to speed/rpms/demand. You have to adjust it for idling, now that you have upper speed o.k. Also, Is your muffler filled with gunk? Sorry these suggestions are are so general.
