what to paint engine parts with

hey, i want to paint a carab and the engine block... what do you suggest. I want that cool black rhbg race carb, but dont want to buy it. so im going to spray one black, is there any good matt finish powder coat looking paint? and yes, i will make sure not to clog anything

Re: what to paint engine parts with

High temp spray paint. They stuff that is intended for BBQ's has always treated me well in the past.

But the fuel will probably eat through the paint pretty fast.

Since the engine block is most likely aluminum you could anodize the case.

Re: what to paint engine parts with

try some of that hitemp paint made for brake calipers. it's a little pricey but resists most solvents when dry.

sweet. i would have to pay somebody to anodize right? thats some sort of elaborate treatment??

Re: what to paint engine parts with

yes!

Re: what to paint engine parts with

where is the cheapest place to buy hitemp paint for brake calipers? is this paint different from regular hitemp paint.

Re: what to paint engine parts with

anodyze is a process using DC current sorta like electroplating- neat stuff- if you got the money i suggest taking it somewhere that you can get it powdercoated- maybe that would hold up to the heat-

Re: what to paint engine parts with
