Motobecane cady access to flywheel

Hey there I have removed my flywheel from my cady, now I am trying to access the clutch? Anyways; I have the flywheel tool but it seems all I need it a wrench. Its stuck quite good; so I have tried some wd40. Just want to double check with folks the direction of the threading so I don't strip the nut. any clue?

Re: Motobecane cady access to flywheel

actually what you removed was the clutch. whats left on there is the flywheel.

Re: Motobecane cady access to flywheel

Loosen the nut by turning to the left. Get a strap wrench around the flywheel or use the rope in the sparkplug hole trick.

Re: Motobecane cady access to flywheel

beware that the timing cam might fall out once you loosen the flywheel off.

oops thanks! :)

hence why I need all the help, I am learning as we speak!

Re: Motobecane cady access to flywheel

on the 50v's and the rest of the conventional motobecanes, the flywheel nut is reverse threaded (meaning you have to turn it to the RIGHT to loosen it as opposed to the left. i'm not sure if the same holds true for the cady or not.

Re: Motobecane cady access to flywheel

On the Cady the flywheel nut comes off the normal way (turn to the LEFT).
