Honda NC50 1981 Automatic choke advice needed

I lucked out and found a 1981 NC50 Express.

The restoration process is going great except for the automatic choke that is connected to the head. Does anyone

have any words of wisdom before I clean it ? I have not

taken one apart and could use some moped army mechanical advice. I have used the search function and

did not find enough detailed information on the subject.

Do a search for the site `Expressly Mopeds' run by the MopedWhiz. There is a vast amount of info. on the Honda Express. When you do a saearch on that site, hit `cached' to see your result.

The above is true unless they have changed the site. don-ohio

Re: Honda NC50 1981 Automatic choke advice needed

JAX184 has it right !

If you take apart your carburator,

it is important not to open the automatic choke box !

The lines from the carb to the automatic choke and such can crack and leak.

If this happens you will have a hard time starting and idling.

They are easy to replace.

Taking it apart would be a big mistake thanks JAX184 !

I'm ok with this the next question is how do I test it ?
