Honda Hobbit Variator - problem with Honda parts

OK, here is the story:

My bike was not shifting smoothly so I opened up the variator and looked at the weights. The composition doughnuts on the ends of the weights are starting to break up.

I went to my parts 1981 book and saw that I needed the following:

Three each pn: 22121-148-700 Roller, weight

and

Six each pn: 22122-148-700 Roller, weight

Trying to support our local shops I went to my local Honda store and tried to order them.

They said that the individual parts are no longer available and that I had to order three (3) ea pn: 22120-148-700

roller sets.

Now comes the problem:

When the parts came in all there was in the bags were the three metal center weights and no outer doughnuts. I couldn't convince the parts guys at the Honda store that the definition of a "set" is an assembly of two or more component parts.

Anyone (joew) ever bought the pn: 22120-148-700 sets? And did you receive all three parts in it?

Thanks for the help.

I'v had to super glue broken ones back together, and file them round again- never been able to get the new parts, even from partsfish.

I could have bought them from westernhillshonda.com but i tried to do it locally.

They are also available from cmsnl.com in Europe.

Also try www.50cc.nl, Honda Camino, 50cc part number 11466, rollers and face plate about 23USD plus shipping

Re: Honda Hobbit Variator - problem with Honda par

Silverfox.

I bought 3 sets (3 weights and 6 caps in each set) from my local dealer. For 3 dollars a set.

I will go home and check the part numbers for you.

Sometimes, the fiche lies.

Tune in tomorrow boss.

I called Honda yesterday but they would not help. They said that only the dealer can talk to the parts specialist.

I am going to bug my dealer.
