Dirty Piston?

Hey there...

First off pardon my lack of engine jargon...

I took the piston head off my moped and it was all dirty inside the chamber the piston pumps in. I cleaned it best I could with a napkin and wd40.... but it is still far from immaculate. How should I go about cleaning my piston?

Would I be better off just replacing some parts? Like everyone I am looking for cheap fixes to get more speed.

I was looking at this kit from 1977.... any advise?

Thanks,

"go here and get all the puch manuals":http://www.mopedriders.org/article_cat.php?fldAuto=2

Also read Fred's Guide at the top of that page for tips on tuning, adjusting, fixing and cleaning and general restoration.

My advice is to get that bike in perfect stock tune and in top shape before seriously considering any performance modifications.. Search and read up on the subject.

any monkey can bolt stuff onto a bike, but if you want to understand what it's all about read something like
