Well, I got my fancy-pants 4-petal Polini etc. etc. engine together today, and fired it up. It ran for a couple of seconds, then the starter plate over the clutch just took itself apart. All the parts were in the crank case, just all over the place. Luckily, it didn't take anything else with it, but it's a frustrating setback.
What did I do wrong to make it fly apart like that? The starter plate thing just rests on the end there, clipped in to the clutch drum, right?
