Questions about 1978 Sachs Westlake

I have a few general questions, I just got a 1978 sachs Westlake, and I know very little about working on mopeds. But the most important thing I need to know right is how to put oil in the clutch (if that makes since). Can anyone help?

Re: Questions about 1978 Sachs Westlake

start by going HERE and getting the Sachs manual near the bottom of the page .. Manufacturers tend to build all their different models in a very similar manner so that manual will have something of interest.

Also read Fred's Guide at the top of that page.

hang in there..

people familiar with Sachs will come along and answer questions.

AWESOME! thank you very much

Re: Questions about 1978 Sachs Westlake

There is a plastic plug on the clutch side of the engine- that's where the transmission fluid goes, just fill it untill it starts to dribble out the hole.

use a flexible funnel. and either type F or Dextron transmission fluid.

The search feature on this forum is really good, and if you have a decent connection you should be able to find anything you need on this forum, with enough time.
