My FA50 is burning too much oil, but I have no idea how to adjust the amount of oil going into the piston. Is there a control mechanism on the oil pump that I'm missing?

your FA-50 should be two cycle, there is no oil pump on a two cycle. You could have too much oil in your gas mixture but im not sure, my FA-50 is 25-1 ratio.
what year is it?
Weird. I wonder what the oil tank and oil pump are for, then.
you should double check then, is it a two cycle or is it a four stroke engine
It has an oil injection pump.
It can not be adjusted.
There is a way to test the rate of injection.
I have heard it said that the oil pump can leak iol into the engine, it is possible that you need to run it on a long ride to burn out the excess oil residue in the case.
Mine always smokes for a while after I first start it.
I try to run it every day to keep it clean.
I'll post the test procedure tonight when I have more time.

Thanks Rusty. It's not too bad, just wanted to see if I could get it perfect. I actually have the service amnual that details the measuring method, so no need to post. Thanks!

Another thing.
It sound dumb but it happend to me so I will mention it.
I used fuel from my premix can by accident and was smoking up a cloud till I drained and refilled it with just fuel.
