I bought a suzuki FZ50 a couple of months ago, it has been running sweet, but then started to putter out unless the choke is used. Im not sure how to fix it, can anyone help?

Clean the main jet in the carb.
it's cold out now and your ped will take a bit longer to warm up, is it warmed up and still doing it?
Yup, sounds like a plugged jet, or perhaps you don't have an air filter on it? Upjet is the answer if your jet is unclogged, and your air filter is intact and in place. Cold weather makes the ped run lean.
To clean up my carbs I used about 2oz. of Seafoam Fuel additive to a gal.of fuel mix. Take off air intake & squirt a few shots in the intake while running. Be careful its really flamable =+)
