Mobylette 1970s engine on a 60s frame?

Will it work?

the engine is shaped differently, but it looks like it mounts up in a kinda the same.

or

Will a 60s head line up on a 70s engine.

Anyone tried getting a newer moby engine on an older frame?

the most i have done is a 1980 engine on a 1976 frame. no where near the same as you are trying.

The 1978 engine, for example is nearly identical to the AV88 engine from the late sixties. the main difference was the cylinder head, with it mounting moved around. You can put a late model engine with a sixties head on a sixties bike, barring electrical mismatching.

Let me know how that goes too because I bought two old Moby top tanks from the 60's with seized engines. I'm picking them up in early November.
