WTF happened to this spark plug boot? (pics)

So i sold a guy a motobecane and he came on the ride with the creatures. He had to break off though cause he was hearing a wierd POP POP and then the engine died. We got it back to his house. I tool a look and it seems that the spark plug melted into the boot! pic attached.

How the heck does this happen. did i have something stuck in the boot? is something wrong with the coil or the electrical? seriously WTF! lol

The top of the plug came out of the boot holder, and it was probablly arcing causing the popping, and the heat melted the plastic.

so i can just get a new boot and it will be all good? I was just worried this might be an electrical issue.

Steamboat Aka J. R. Stevens /

You should use a quality plug wire and perform a plug chop to make sure the engine is not running lean(hot) . Chances are, no harm done, just a pain. Jim.
