Tomos Forks Popping...

I just noticed that when I go over bumps or small blemishes in the asphalt, my LX forks will have a tendency to pop or hit... almost like they're loose... but they're not.

Is there any way to dampen or correct this problem?

Thanks,

No.. It almost sounds like they kink...

It sounds like the bearings in the frame are clunking... but they're not... Everything's all snug and I've wiggled everything twice. There's no play at all... but if I sit on the bike, put the front brake on, and slam down on it, it'll do it... it's really wierd. I just cant trace the noise!

Maybe a broken spring, only way to find out is take the forks apart.

You gotta get some earplugs... you're driving yourself crazy with all these noises hehe...

I do the same thing all the time myself :P

Re: Tomos Forks Popping...

Id just pull the forks apart and inspect/replace and relube them.

Re: Tomos Forks Popping...

Yeah.. I was actually thinking of a way to stiffen the forks... Maybe shimming them inbetween the coils or spot-welding them together so they dont bounce as much...

I'm thinking that the part that screws into the spring may have come loose and is giggling around in there when i hit a bump. I guess i have a project for the weekend... lol.

Thanks guys.
