FA50 gas leak

I recently bought a 1982 Suzuki FA50 for bout 200 bucks, it runs great but i do have a problem the gas leaks. I replaced all the lines, checked to see if tank was cracked but was not. I believe the gas is leaking out of some sort of overflow line...but i am not sure. If anyone knows what is going on please let me know.....Thanks

Cody

Re: FA50 gas leak

carbs have an internal valve that shuts off fuel flow to the carb's float bowl when the float-fuel level is correct .. If this valve is leaking or damaged or dirty, fuel flow will continue, and float level will rise until something leaks or overflows..

most carbs have a provision for overflow and, rather than spilling all over the place causing a fire hazard, the extra fuel would be directed to an overflow tube.
