ZA50 engine dismantling

What's the secret to removing the gears from behind the square case? Is a special tool needed? If there is can you describe it or post a picture of it?

Ok, now that would have been the smart thing to do. Actually the smart thing to do would be to NOT admit that I have a workshop manual and forgot to look at it. Yup! that would have been the smart thing to do!

I'm working on restoring a Magnum Limited. I'm trying to rebuild the engine now but it looks like it could be a slow process without the 'special tools'.

yah it will take a while it took me 4 days to rebuild the trans in my maxi Sport MKII

what sort of special tools do you need to rebuild these trannys? i have both a one speed and two speed i want to take apart and fix up. im especially interested in replacing the clutches/bearings. theyre both off of 1980 puchs. any things not to do/ advice?
