Starting PUCH Maxi

I know this is a stupid question, but how do I _actually_ start a 1979 PUCH Maxi pedal Moped? I know that I have to pedal like hell, but what after that?

Re: Starting PUCH Maxi

left hand side under brake pull in clucth to start let go when started

Re: Starting PUCH Maxi

Do I need to do anything else to start it, like give an throtle or anything like that?

Re: Starting PUCH Maxi

You need to turn the kill switch to the run position, turn the gas to "On" or "Reserve"

Re: Starting PUCH Maxi

So I just turn on the gas flow, turn the kill switch on (to run) pull in the clutch and just pedal like hell, right? So it will just start then?

You need to pedal first, then squeeze the clutch lever to engage...once the motor kicks over, let go the lever. If you have 2 cables going to the carb, one is a choke. Move the choke lever to help start, once it's running, move the lever back. If no choke lever, just do as above. Good luck.

Re: Starting PUCH Maxi

On the Carb there is a little screw with a spring around it. I know this is for fuel control. I took it out when I cleaned the carb and put it back in, but how many turns in am I supposed to put it into the carb?

Re: Starting PUCH Maxi

Thats the idle screw. Get the moped started on the kickstand with the idle screw all the way in then use the brakes to stop the rear wheel. It will probably start turning after you let go of the brake. Gradually loosen the screw until the ped idles without turning the rear wheel.
