yamaha qt50 problems

my qt50 when i start it it runs kinda when i go to take off or to ride it i have to keep two fingers covering the back carb if i take them off it boogs out and dies can anyone tell me how to correct it or just so i can ride without covering the carb,and i have put a new needle valve in it and converted it to pre mix.one more thing how do i set the float level.

Sounds like the fuel is not getting through the carb in sufficient amount. So you're limiting the air to correct the ratio with your fingers, as opposed to using the choke. The choke doesn't work? Carb cleaner is your friend, use it liberally on all the jet openings and especially on the main needle and seat. Make sure the carb is all the way on the intake, think air leak. I found the manual for QT-50's online for free, using google. I literally just spent the day going thru the rear brakes and carb. on my $20 QT-50. I'll get back to you on the float setting. Where in K.C. are you? I'm about 50 miles south of K.C.

The only mention of the float setting I can find is fuel level

at 22mm +/- 1mm ( .87 in +/1 .04 in)

On my carb the float was level with its center line running parallell to the carb body. So I didn't mess w/ it.

the choke dosen't work so i on top of the carb i lifted it up so it would choke but it don't help any. and i hear you on brakes ming don't work eather and i need tires. i'm in springfeild mo ,but my bikes in forsyth mo
