honda PA50 help

Thomas Middleditch /

I need to get the pedal shaft out of the bike. In order to do that, I need to take off the pedal arms from the shaft. There's a nut that I can unscrew, but then I don't know how to get the screw (that holds the pedal on) off. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Re: honda PA50 help

Just use a hammer to pound the bolt out. Hit it on the threaded side.

It doesn't want to move, and I'm banding pretty hard. It's not just a screw, it's like a screw that's connected to a square-looking thing. I'd take a picture but my camera's being crazy.

its a square pin with threadson the end. try heating the peddle up with a torch (around the pin) and then tap it out. i would barely screw a nut on the threads though, and hit that so you dont mess up the threads. at least to break it loose. they can be real difficlt sometimes

Re: honda PA50 help

The pin is tapered so it really holds tight. It might be rusted in a little. Put the nut back on flush with the end of the pin shaft threads and give it a good whack. It should come loose.
