clutch slipping

I have a '77 50v that runs like a champ however when I was spraying WD-40 on the chain I accidentily got some in the clutch. Now the clutch just spins and the moped goes nowhere. I tried spraying brake cleaner in the clutch with the moped running but it still slips. Is there a way to fix this without taking the clutch plate out because I hate spending $25 on a clutch puller that will only be used once. thanks for the help.

Re: clutch slipping

dude, you cant have anything go on the clutch!! That stuff is supposed to be liquid free to get a good catch. Try lightly sanding off a layer and buffing it out with a liquid free cloth. Worked for me, but never put stuff on the clutch or brake pads.
