tomos A3 bullet top end

Nick Eiselstein /

hi i am having problems with my 81 silver bullet as you can tell from my other posts. Is there a certain way to put the head back on to ensure proper sealing? Which way do the studs go into the engine and which bolt the head down? One end is longer than the other I was wondering if that could cuz an air leak?

Re: tomos A3 bullet top end

Hmmmm.... The "long part should be vertical. So that it "matches" up with the jug. Theres no head gasket, just a squish band in the head itself.

on the studs one of the threads is longer on one side than it is on the other. That is one i meant.

Re: tomos A3 bullet top end

My bad. Actually, I can't remember. I never understood why you'd want to take them out, myself. I had one out of my A-3's, and put it back in. I twisted a few off in one tranny, in a attenpt to get them out. <www.themopedjunkyard.com> has some good diagrams, you probably can tell which way to put them back in from the pics there.
