Throttle Cable Lube

Do you have to lubricate throttle cables?

if so, with what and how?

wd 40 works fine and is easy to find

I use a dropper, and drip 20-50 down the cable, working the cable as I go to keep it moving, WD-40 is ok, but it does not hold up.........

no it really doesnt. needs to be reapplied every so often. i personally use chain and cable fluid. its designed for the cables in winches. it soals in and penetrates, and then lubricates. it wont wash off with water either. but, its not a chain lube per' se like a motorcycle chain lube. it does not have the properties to remain on at a high speed. but i've never seen a better product anywhere. it is the best penetrant i've ever used.

Re: Throttle Cable Lube

if its like my puch

just open the little plug on the throttle cable and pump in the lube
