My 1995 Targa LX won't rev up. It is all stock and I cleaned the carb . It starts up and even when warmed up just won't rev. It acts like it isn't getting any air? It has the stock air element and air box? Any suggestions from the members?

are you sure the throttle wire is hooked up correctly? and when you cleaned the carb, did you run a fine piece of wire thru every hole in the carb body and its parts? if so, drop the exhaust off the engine, clean the exhaust port and clean the exhaust.
Hi Don. Thanks for the reply. I cleaned and blew out everything. I forgot to mention I had the thing reving up then decided to pull the exhaust pipe & muffeler to clean the baffle and paint it. While the paint was drying I pulled the head and decarbonized it. I wonder if there is an obstruction in the air box. The darn thing is really jammed in the LX. It reved before now it doesn't and only change was putting on mesh air cleaner and pushing it on the rubber flange of the air box. Not good to leave out all the details huh? I really enjoy your comments on the site and appreciate all the help and advice you give here. Larry
a plugged air box is a possibility. i would look into both, the exhaust, and air box. but usually a plugged air box will cause the engine to run as if the choke is closed. a plugged exhaust will cause one not to rev. it blocks all air flow.
thanks Donp
your welcome.
did you get it fixed?
donp...it is very, very cold here in NE Ohio. I'm waiting till Saturday to bang around on it. Larry
