spark plug boot

I need a new spark plug boot for my Indian moped, but the one I have doesn't have any markings indicating ohmage or anything. How do I know which boot to get? Are they basically the same for all 50cc engines?

No--the later ones have the 5K ohm resistor for RF suppression.

I made the mistake of putting a resistor boot on my 80 LEM-ran like crap, so I went down to a small engine store and got a unsuppressed plug clip and boot and installed that.

Ran great after that.

no they are not all the same. there are two different types. resistor, and non resistor. personally i like the non resistor best. all it does is block radio interference. you can buy replacement boots at any motorcycle, lawn mower, or auto motive shop. ngk makes the best one in my opinion.

cant you tell by the type of plug you have? ie long thread plug is the resistor type, thus you need a nonresistor boot? -jason

no. the rl86c and the l86c look exactly the same.
